The Structural Argument

Per-order pricing is an engineering constraint, not a business decision.

Incumbent ordering systems process each transaction through a templated rendering pipeline — incremental compute per order, scaling linearly with volume. The vendor's per-order fee is cost recovery on that architecture. Negotiating the fee changes the price point on a curve whose slope is set by the engineering.

Ordrin eliminates the templated rendering layer. Infrastructure cost to serve your 200th location is structurally the same as your 50th. That's what makes a flat annual fee viable rather than subsidized — and what makes the no-per-order guarantee permanent rather than promotional.

How It's Built

Four architectural decisions and what they cost us.

Each choice below preserves flat-fee economics at 50–200+ locations. Each one closed a door — a market sacrificed, a shortcut abandoned — because the alternative would have reintroduced the cost structures the architecture was designed to eliminate.

Headless by design

No rendering layer, no templated front-end. Your team builds the experience; Ordrin provides ordering logic through APIs. This is what makes flat-fee viable — without a per-transaction pipeline, no incremental cost per order.

You need front-end engineering resources. That's a capability requirement, not a feature gap.

Event-driven processing

State changes propagate as events — not scheduled syncs or manual triggers.

Event processing at extreme scale has not been tested in production yet. Benchmarks will be published as deployments expand.

Ordrin connects to POS, payment, loyalty, and marketplace systems through open APIs. That's the accurate version. The complete version: integration isn't instant, isn't automatic, and the timeline depends on your stack's API maturity and your team's bandwidth. We name the complexity because you'll discover it either way.

POS integration

Open APIs to supported POS systems. Configuration steps, parallel-run before cutover. Swapping POS after deployment requires reconfiguration — the infrastructure supports it, but the transition is not trivial.

Payment and loyalty

Adding providers doesn't require re-architecting — but each requires configuration, testing, and validation before production.

Marketplace channels

In active development. Deployment status and throughput data will be published as the module reaches production readiness.

Provider swap commitment

The architecture is provider-agnostic. Ordering logic stays stable during transitions. Integration layer requires reconfiguration. We won't tell you swapping is painless. We will tell you it doesn't require starting over.

What it changes

Per-unit cost trajectory. Under flat-fee infrastructure, cost per location and cost per order decrease as you grow. The flat fee is contractually permanent. Contract language is published.
